About Trainer Field Guide
What is Trainer Field Guide?
Trainer Field Guide is a fan-made Pokémon reference platform and light social tracker built by a solo indie developer as a community resource and tool for kids and adults of all ages.
Whether you are a seasoned trainer completing your collection for the hundredth time or a new player trying to figure out type effectiveness, Trainer Field Guide is built to be the reference tool you keep open while you play.
Why was this built?
My son is a brand new Pokémon trainer. I wanted to build him something he could actually use — a clean, fast, modern reference tool that he didn't have to dig around the internet to find. What started as a small project for him quickly turned into something I wanted to share with every trainer out there.
Trainer Field Guide is built and maintained by Peter (PeaTeaSix) Thomas. It is not affiliated with, authorised, or endorsed by The Pokémon Company, Game Freak, Creatures, or Nintendo. There are no investors, no corporation behind it, and no agenda beyond making something genuinely useful for the Pokémon community.

Is it safe for kids?
Yes. Having kids of my own, I understand the importance of keeping our littles safe from harm in any way we as parents know how. Trainer Field Guide is designed to be safe for trainers of all ages. Under-13 accounts require verified parental consent before activation and have restricted social features. No personal information about under-13 users is ever displayed publicly, and under-13 users are never shown advertising of any kind.
If you see anything that would potentially put your child at risk or you feel uncomfortable about, please reach out. My door is always open to making this site safe and accessible for our kids.
See our COPPA compliance page for full details on how we protect younger trainers.
Why are there ads, affiliate links, and Patreon?
Despite doing this for fun, everything that exists today is funded completely out of my own pocket. We don't run a subscription or direct monetisation model of any kind because I believe this information should be free for everyone who wants to use it. The ads and affiliate links are a no-cost way to help offset those development costs for me.
If you enjoy what you see here and want to support more projects like this one, my Patreon is available to support me across all of my projects. There is absolutely no obligation ever to subscribe to use any functions of this site, and none of these are shown or presented to kids under the age of 13 ever.
Who runs this?
Trainer Field Guide is built and operated by Peter (PeaTeaSix) Thomas under Brown Hammer Studios, an indie game development studio. It is a fan project maintained out of genuine love for the Pokémon franchise and community, and the happiness of my own children.
